On August 17th, 1960, the Beatles played their first gig in the Indra Club in Hamburg. 50 years later the city celebrated the anniversary of the night when John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stu Sutcliffe and Pete Best gave their first performance with an exhibition, a repeat of that night's performance and other events arond Hamburg's Beatles Square.

The Beatles with my uncle Dietmar, whose 20th birthday fell on Beatles Day (the day I was born), and who saw them playing at the Star Club in 1962.
